A Wedding Series - Postponed Wedding
Friday, May 15, 2020It took me sometime to accept that there wasn't going to be a wedding and this was out of my control. In reality, a postponed wedding is not the direst thing happening right now. I completely understand that. I felt fine during the days leading up until the wedding. May 2nd finally came around and my gosh I was so emotional! Mark had promised that we'd still do what we could to make the day special and my goodness it was. May 2nd, 2020 was such a memorable day.
Here's a peek at our day through photos.
We got dressed (meaning no sweats) and had cake!! My little sister picked up my favorite cupcakes for us. My best friends surprised us with a zoom call and they gifted us the most generous gift off of our registry. We have a Dyson air purifier and it is AMAZING. Mark and I had the most fancy dinner. We decided to go with Shake Shack. I mean.. how many people get to have burgers and fries at their wedding? We are so thankful for our beautiful friends that showered us with so much love. How did we get so lucky?
To all those that are experiencing a similar situation during this time of uncertainty, I wanted to let you know that this too shall pass. Things will get better.
We are really grateful to be standing where we are and not in someone else's shoes. We are healthy. We have food to eat. We have family and friends that care about us. We are working from home. We are happy.
Thinking of all of you that had to cancel graduations, birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers and all the other big events you were looking forward to. I hope you choose to celebrate in your own special way because you deserve to.
This post is the start of a wedding series. I spent weeks rushing to get everything ready for the wedding but now I have way more time than I ever needed. I mean it. WAY more time. I'd like to use this time to share all my DIY projects and a little on the planning process. #weddingwednesday coming soon!
