Winnie the Pooh One Hundred Acre Wood Baby Shower

Say hello to virtual belly rubs!!
My beautiful sister is having her rainbow baby in August! I was lucky enough to be there when she found out she was pregnant but haven't been able to see her due to Covid. We are so grateful that she was able to visit in June. My girls and I planned a virtual shower for her. We wanted to make the shower as safe as possible so we had a small group of family over and the rest of the guest joined online.
Below are some helpful tips to help make the best out of virtual baby showers.
Video Chat Services:
There are so many to choose from but we decided on Zoom. Zoom is definitely the easiest to navigate. FYI - The free version of zoom meeting only allows for 40 minute meetings.
Themes & decor:
My sister loves Winnie the Pooh so we decided to create a Hundred Acre Wood themed baby shower. We stuck to whites, gold and yellow for a neutral palette. The baby shower was also her gender reveal so the theme was perfect.
- I found these adorable classic Winnie the Pooh die cuts at Joanns. I used glued these to the 5x7 card stock signs to place around the house. These can also be used for a strong garland if you punch holes in them.
- Guest book courtesy of Targets One Spot ( only $3)
- Printed off a sweet quote online and found an old gold frame which matched perfectly
- Hundred Acre Wood Sign: I created a stencil for the letters and painted right on top of the wood. This actually came out a lot better than expected.
- Dollar tree jars & Trader Joe flowers for the floral arrangements. We painted the jars white and used a dark yellow acrylic paint to make honey jars.
- Michaels balloon garland in white, clear and gold
- Oh Baby Balloons from Target
Invitations:
Paperless post has always been my go to for invitations. They have the most gorgeous and realistic cards. Tracking options are pretty basic but I love how interactive you can be with guests and sharing photos after the event. We even shared her baby registry just in case guests wanted to send a gift to shower the baby. E-vite is also a really popular option.
Party Favors:
Although we only had 10 guests in person, we wanted our virtual guests to feel super special as well. We ordered the BEST cupcakes from one of our favorite places, Bakeshop and dropped them off to all of our local attendees. My sister and brother in law helped with this. It was the perfect time to get them out of the house for us to decorate.
I ordered individual cupcake holders from Amazon and created thank stickers with labels. I had the labels cut with my silhouette cameo but scissors will work just fine!
Games:
We decided to play two guessing games. We filled up a jar full of honeycomb cereal and had guests guess how many honeycombs were in the jar. We also had guests guess the size of mama's belly. We ended up having one winner for the honeycomb game and four winners that guessed the correct size of mama's belly! Each guest won a $25 Amazon E-gift card that was emailed after the shower.
Gender Reveal:
There are so many wonderful options for gender reveals that really allows you to get super creative. We decided to stick with a simple cake because.. who doesn't love cake?
We had a beautiful almond cake made to reveal the baby's gender. Simply Desserts is one of our favorite places. They also made my sister's wedding cake in 2016 so it was a must.
I made the cake topper with the silhouette cameo on gold glitter card stock paper.
IT'S A BOY!!!
A huge thank you to my girls that helped make this baby shower possible and ALL of our guests that attended in person and online. Virtual baby showers can be just as fun as in person showers. I hope this gives you some ideas for your next virtual event.
